The property was formerly a Focus DIY before 99p Stores took a new lease.  B&M subsequently took an assignment of the lease from 99p Stores on a 10 year lease from 8 December 2011 at a rental of £260,000.  Douglas Stevens & Company were instructed to sell the resultant investment achieving an agreed sale price of £3,080,000.

25/07/2014: Motherwell Letting Spree

Six retailers set to join Motherwell Shopping Centre in North Lanarkshire.

Fashion retailer WestCoast has taken a 2,200 sq ft unit on a five year FRI lease at £60,000 pax. Other new lettings include Store 21, Peter Frances Jewellers, Delights Café, Discount Cards & Party and Pisces Fishmongers & Poulterers, with another two lettings in the pipeline.

These deals follow recent lease renewals with Quiz, Officers Club and EE.

Motherwell shopping centre is more than 90 per cent let and attracted more than a million customers during the first quarter of this year, representing a 13 per cent increase in shopper numbers compared with the first quarter last year.

The centre recently launched a carry to car service and has announced plans to develop an evening economy, pledging to invest £500,000 in a new drive-thru KFC family restaurant if it gets the go ahead.

22/4/2013: Sainsburys Shenley Church End

Rockspring Property Investment Managers is funding the development of a Sainsbury's supermarket at Shenley Church End in Milton Keynes for £12.3m.

The deal reflects a 5.1% net initial yield. The scheme is pre-let to Sainsbury's on a 25-year lease, and will provide 38,000 sq ft of retail space and 238 car parking spaces. It is due to complete next spring.

Frontier Estates is Rockspring's development partner for the project. Phil Sturdy, Rockspring's European director, said: "The development of the site is in line with our strategy of creating value through funding developments at a discount to standing investments." Damian Wood, Frontier Estates director, added: "Frontier is continuing its expansion in the food store sector and is working on a number of opportunities with Sainsbury's, ASDA, Morrisons, Tesco and Waitrose."
