Leicester - On Behalf of ING UK Retail Property Fund, Britannica, Douglas Stevens & Co have secured a Currys.Digital store at The Haymarket, Leicester. The unit has been created from a subdivision of the ex-Woolworths store and the electrical goods retailer has taken 5225 sq ft.
The Haymarket has for the last three years consistently increased its footfall and has experienced an increase of 38.7% in shoppers visiting the centre since 2007. The Centre has also found that retailers are relocating to Humberstone Gate as this becomes a prime pitch for retailers not needing to mix with the high rent/high fashion offer that Highcross Shopping Centre now provides.
The Haymarket, which is located in the heart of Leicester town centre, comprises 22,300 sq m (240,000 sq ft) of retail space across 63 units.  The Centre is an established scheme with a tenant line-up including a number of renowned high street names, such as Primark, Boots, Peacocks and H&M.

Sarah Slater, Fund Manager for ING Britannica commented:
“We are continually working towards a balanced retail offer at the Haymarket and a Currys.Digital store is a welcome addition to the tenant mix. Following the opening of Highcross, we are delighted with the benefits that this has brought to the City of Leicester and the positive effect it is having on The Haymarket.”
